As for 2023, Dallas was its usual self, offering no shortage of compelling narratives. I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/books\/2023\/03\/01\/will-a-reimagined-dallas-museum-of-art-truly-embrace-diversity\/\">tracked<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/04\/27\/dallas-museum-of-art-announces-finalists-for-major-expansion-project\/\">the<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/07\/11\/which-of-the-dallas-museum-of-arts-6-dramatic-expansion-plans-should-win\/\">selection<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/08\/03\/dallas-museum-of-art-picks-little-known-spanish-architects-for-museum-expansion\/\">an architect<\/a> for the expansion of the Dallas Museum of Art; followed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/10\/04\/an-artist-reveals-a-buried-dallas-creek-hidden-beneath-downtown-streets\/\">long forgotten<\/a> creek under downtown; I looked at why the city has<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/08\/15\/how-dallas-can-finally-fix-frank-lloyd-wrights-landmark-kalita-humphreys-theater\/\"> consistently failed<\/a> to preserve Frank Lloyd Wright&#8217;s Kalita Humphreys Theater; examined the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/11\/30\/new-plans-revealed-for-a-325-million-trinity-river-park\/\"> shifting plan<\/a> for an extravagant Trinity Park; continued my series on the city&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/10\/25\/how-the-dallas-skyline-got-its-magical-shape-shifting-masterpiece\/\">defining<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/06\/01\/how-dallas-most-iconic-building-came-to-be\/\">buildings<\/a>; looked at how AI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/01\/20\/can-we-replace-our-architecture-critic-with-a-computer-program-we-tried-it\/\">performs<\/a> architecture criticism; profiled the city&#8217;s most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/03\/21\/how-one-architect-is-remaking-dallas-in-his-own-modern-image-one-skyscraper-at-a-time\/\">prolific architec<\/a>t; covered projects using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/07\/26\/in-fort-worth-a-stunning-new-development-elevates-the-humble-quonset-hut\/\">Quonset huts<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/05\/03\/yabadabadoo-a-spectacular-museum-addition-channels-the-flintstones\/\">Flinstones curves<\/a>; and wrote about<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dallasnews.com\/arts-entertainment\/architecture\/2023\/02\/13\/the-best-new-building-in-texas-is-a-church-in-the-dallas-suburbs\/\"> the most beautiful (and meaningful) new building in Texas<\/a>.
